Winter flax

The main outlet for oilseed flax is animal feed, in the form of oilcake or whole seeds rich in omega 3. Sown in September and harvested from early July to mid-August, winter linseed reduces the risk of erosion by covering the soil in autumn. Not very susceptible to pests, it facilitates weeding of cereals or rapeseed by creating a break in rotations. Flax is a relatively economical crop in terms of inputs, and therefore operating costs. As flax is a low-coverage crop and sensitive to competition from weeds, weed control is of the utmost importance.
