An institute and a board of directors chaired by a farmer
The grandson of a farmer, Gilles Robillard, originally from Loir-et-Cher, has been farming since the age of 30. His 500-hectare farm in the Chablis region of Burgundy grows field crops and vines.
The President of Terres Inovia has a long-standing commitment to collective action: he is General Secretary of the FDSEA and a director of the FOP.
The role of the Board of Directors
Gilles Robillard chairs the Board of Directors, whose mission is to address the issues faced by producers on their farms and by the agricultural world as a whole:
- Its members are exclusively professionals. They are recognized economic players in the oilseed, pulses and hemp sectors: producers, cooperatives, traders, seed producers, seed establishments, oil mills, etc.
- The Board of Directors decides on Terres Inovia's strategic orientations and approves the annual budget enabling the company to carry out its program of activities and investments.
The Board includes a large number of farmers from different production basins, as well as members of storage organizations and processors. This representation enables Terres Inovia to be close to the concerns of the field, while at the same time relaying the needs of the sector to those downstream from production.

The role of the Scientific Advisory Board
Terres Inovia's strategic orientations are submitted to a Scientific Council.
This consultative body is chaired by Christophe David, President of Isara, a scientific figure from the world of academic research, who guarantees its independence.
The majority of its members are scientists from academic research, representatives of the oilseed, protein and hemp industries, and economic players in the sector.

What is the Scientific Advisory Board's mission?
The role of the Scientific Advisory Board is to respond to three challenges. The first is to support the Institute's general strategy by providing input and questioning it at our meetings. The second is to address certain issues of interest to the institute, such as how to deal with climate change and the diversification of cropping systems. Finally, the third challenge is to support forward-thinking and partnership-based thinking, so as to guarantee real interaction for the benefit of the agricultural world and the industry.
In concrete terms, how does it help Terres Inovia?
It's there to push forward the Institute's questions. He will be able to help Terres Inovia by answering one objective: to find the concrete and real impact of the solutions and references proposed on the agricultural world to guarantee a protein transition and a consolidation of the crops supported by the institute.

The Scientific Advisory Board can also advise Terres Inovia on its positioning, which is identified by its strong roots in the world of agriculture, but also within the industry. For example, the strong focus on pulses shows that Terres Inovia needs to consolidate its status as an institute for crop diversification.
