Description
As a sustainable and competitive crop that provides ecosystem benefits, sunflowers require the implementation of integrated management practices to reach their full potential. This training course provides you with the technical know-how and essential agronomic guidelines to ensure the success of your crop rotation plans and maximize field performance.
On the agenda:
- Plant physiology: key stages of sunflower development and the main abiotic factors influencing yield
- Crop management: intercropping, planting, fertilization, weed control (including post-emergence), plant protection, irrigation, and harvesting
- Analysis and management of crop setbacks: identification, causes, and solutions
Training objectives
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Recommend key cultivation techniques for a successful sunflower production plan
- Identify major problems that may arise during the growing cycle
Teaching methods
Hybrid format:

Online theory (2 hours): Technical input, case studies, interactive quizzes via Teams.

Fieldwork (1 day): Plot analysis, observation of growth stages, diagnosis of crop damage, discussions with the instructor.
