Tool Description
Not much information to provide
The information required is: the county, soil type, pea history, and irrigation. There isn’t much to enter, but the details must be provided very precisely.
A tool usable in most regions
The EvA tool was developed using a database containing information on 780 plots across the northern half of France, and was subsequently validated on 120 plots, primarily in the Normandy and Centre-Val de Loire regions. This tool can be used in the regions of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Brittany, Centre-Val de Loire, Grand Est, Hauts-de-France, Île-de-France, Normandy, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, and Pays de la Loire.
Points to Note
Currently, only the effect of winter or spring pea cultivation on the evolution of a soil’s Infectious Potential is known. The effect of other susceptible legumes has not yet been taken into account in this tool due to a lack of data. Consequently, for fields that have been planted with one or more susceptible legumes other than peas as a main crop, intercrop, companion crop, or cover crop, the risk may be underestimated. Only a biological test can accurately estimate the risk in these fields.*
*Susceptible legumes: lentils, alfalfa, vetch, certain species/varieties of vetch (Access the test) »
