Keep a close eye on how things are progressing at plot level over the next few days. The threat looms particularly large for collards that are already weakened (flea beetle larvae, wet soils, low biomass, etc.), especially in valleys and plots surrounded by woods/hedges. The BSV for your region alerts you to the weekly risk, but at the moment, things can change in a very short space of time!

Despite temperatures exceeding 20°C on Wednesday February 25, nothing to report in the Saint-Jean-d'Angély, Matha and Rouillac sectors.

A surprise on Thursday February 26 in the Saintes, Pons, Gémozac and Cozes sectors, with colza at D2 stage, and the number of budworms per plant above the damage threshold on the variety of interest in the presence of an early variety at E stage (most infested).

After these 3 days of fine weather, count the number of budworms on your colza to assess whether protection is necessary. Be even more vigilant in the case of rape crops handicapped by heavy infestations of flea beetle larvae and/or winter hydromorphy, and which are struggling to restart.
