Clémence de Saintignon is a network engineer at Baziège. Working directly with a group of a dozen farmers, she accompanies them on their plots to follow Terres Inovia's key research themes.
"I studied agronomy at Purpan engineering school in Toulouse, and then worked as a technical sales representative before joining Terres Inovia as a development engineer.
I work directly with a group of around ten farmers. In concrete terms, I regularly visit their farms to monitor their plots on the topics I study with them, in particular plant cover, soil fertility and crop success. If some of them wish, I can also set up strip trials to study a topic of particular interest to them. This network organization enables Terres Inovia to produce references that come directly from the farms.
Our close relationships with farmers enable us to understand their constraints and adapt our recommendations to their needs. In this way, we can measure whether our innovations correspond to the reality on the ground".
