Operational study on processing and adding value to seeds
Missions
This research unit of the Seeds Processing and Valorization Department develops innovations in processing techniques to enhance the value of seeds from oil and protein crops, in order to better meet consumer expectations and respond to changes and constraints in the livestock and agri-food industries.
In partnership with ITERG, it has an experimental platform for seed processing.
Expertise
- Contributing to the control of food safety, from seeds to processed products
- Work on processing techniques to enhance product value: hulling, cooking, mechanical extraction of oil from oilseeds, solvent extraction, extrusion, etc.
- Expertise to develop local value chains
- Environmental assessment of products through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
