A new strategy and visual identity for Terres Inovia

A frame of reference

To support producers and agricultural sectors through the major upheavals currently affecting agriculture, Terres Inovia has drawn up an ambitious strategic plan for the next ten years to consolidate its raison d'être, ambitions and commitments for the next ten years.

" Today, we are at a major turning point. Climate shocks, societal expectations, economic pressures and regulatory uncertainties are profoundly transforming production conditions. Historically created for farmers, and now mainly financed by them, Terres Inovia has always been able to adapt to major agricultural turning points and meet the needs of farmers and their industry. The institute is now equipped with a reference framework, a structuring tool that responds to the scale of the transitions that agriculture is undergoing. This 10-year plan is the fruit of a long-term effort, and has been designed with a dual timeframe in mind: responding to immediate challenges while anticipating those of tomorrow ", explained Gilles Robillard, President of Terres Inovia, at a press conference held on December 11.

Gilles Robillard, President of Terres Inovia: "Terres Inovia is a benchmark of trust for farmers and industry players".

" At the heart of these transformations, oilseeds, pulses and hemp face challenges but also offer unprecedented opportunities for protein sovereignty, agroecology and regional resilience.

Faced with this reality, and aware that our research is only as valuable as the innovative outlets it offers our industry, we would like to emphasize the decisive role played by our interactions with every member of the industry, from the farmer to the end product.

Today, our institute must both anticipate and provide robust solutions that can be applied directly on the farm. That's what this framework is all about: clarifying our raison d'être, reinforcing our commitments and organizing our actions around strategic axes. By unveiling this new phase today, Terres Inovia is fully assuming its role: paving the way for solutions for the future.

The institute's signature commits it and outlines the direction in which the institute is deploying itself: Paving the way for the solutions of the future.

A raison d'être and six major commitments

Terres Inovia's reflection process has enabled us to redefine what constitutes the very essence of the institute: "to put the best of agronomic and transformative science at the service of an agriculture of solutions, for farmers and our sectors, for today and tomorrow".
This raison d'être implies six commitments that guide the actions of our teams:
- Innovation based on trust, scientifically founded, tested and useful to farmers.
- Anticipation of climate, social and regulatory issues.
- Openness, through co-construction with scientific, technical and economic partners.
- Close proximity to producers and processors.
- Enlightened independence, with objectivity, rigor and absence of conflicts of interest.
- A results-oriented culture, with systematic impact measurement and sustainable value creation.

Four strategic pillars

The 2025 - 2035 roadmap is structured around four strategic priorities:

- Strengthening national sovereignty in plant oils and proteins
The Institute's work is aimed at boosting the production and valorization of oilseeds, pulses and hemp, in order to reduce France's dependence on imports and its vulnerability to geopolitical and climatic challenges. Emblematic programs such as Cap Protéines+ and Formidable Protéines 2 support this dynamic.

- Accelerating an agro-ecological transition
Terres Inovia promotes the adoption of cropping systems that are productive, competitive and respectful of the environment. The Cap Agronomie® program and the results of the R2D2 project show that agro-ecological transition can be productive and profitable when accompanied. The institute wants to go further, by widely deploying the establishment of robust crops, so as to sustainably stabilize the volumes collected.

- Deploying solutions for adapting to climate change

The institute's work consists in promoting the creation of new tolerant varieties, itineraries adjusted to hazards and decision-making tools (climate models, water management, territorial diagnostics) to secure production and the economic viability of farms.

- Informing industry and government decisions
Terres Inovia produces consolidated technical and economic references, prospective analyses and independent expertise. In particular, Terres Inovia contributes to Parsada to structure R&D and respond to the technical impasses encountered by farmers.

Three priority challenges to meet industry expectations

- Protein sovereignty: 35 R&D projects dedicated to legumes and increased support for local value chains.
- Productivity and competitiveness of farms, by helping producers to build more robust cropping systems through the Cap Agronomie® program.
- Managing impasses linked to the elimination of phytosanitary solutions: steering the phosmet phase-out plan, with 11 R&D projects providing proven alternative solutions, and the Institute's involvement in Parsada projects.

Laurent Rosso, Managing Director of Terres Inovia

" By leading the way, Terres Inovia takes on the role of daring pioneer, breaking new ground, and at the same time, by using the 1st person plural, it is the one who federates, accompanies and embraces.

By focusing on the solution of the future, we make it clear which side we want to be on, and adopt a resolutely forward-looking, positive and engaging tone. We're setting the course - the future - and asserting that our innovations are operational and robust, because they've been designed to be deployed over the long term ".

A new logo

The logo has evolved to become simpler, more assertive and more modern.

The palette has been reduced from seven to four colors, which are more bold and luminous, with a charcoal gray that reinforces the idea of robustness and medium-term projection.

The new typography, rounded and fluid, remains close to the current one, while gaining in solidity. The figurative element continues to represent plots of land and the diversity of agricultures supported. The rounded shapes and spaces convey openness and the desire for exchange.

A completely redesigned website

Entirely rebuilt on a modern, eco-designed technical base, the new Terres Inovia website will go online in a few days. More graphic, smoother and aligned with the new visual identity, it offers a revamped browsing experience, notably thanks to thematic entries (pests, fertilization, climatic accidents...) and enriched crop pages.

A major new feature is that a number of contents hitherto reserved for logged-in accounts are now freely accessible, including crop guides, campaign news and decision-support tools, all of which are in great demand among users.
