In a context of reduced use of phytosanitary products (ECOPHYTO plan, withdrawal of active substances, increased weed resistance), sustainable weed management in oilseed crops requires an integrated approach. This training course enables technicians and farmers to acquire a global and operational vision of the different levers available, by integrating agronomic, mechanical and chemical methods, with a view to sustainability and efficiency. Thanks to up-to-date technical inputs, exchanges between peers and observation of equipment in real-life conditions, participants will know how to reason about and optimize their weed control strategies on a rotational scale, while taking into account current regulatory and economic issues.

Program:

Day 1 - Rapeseed
Day 2 - Sunflower, soybean and protein crops

For each crop, the following topics will be covered:

  • Presentation of agronomic levers (tillage, associated cover crops, rotations, etc.)
  • Efficiency and complementarity of mixed and mechanical weed control strategies
  • Main authorized active substances: effectiveness, selectivity, conditions of use
  • Equipment settings and practical recommendations
  • Commented presentation of equipment (curtain harrow, hoe, rotary hoe, etc.)

At the end of the course, participants will be able to :

  • Identify the different weed management methods for oilseed crops.

  • Analyze the agronomic, mechanical and chemical levers available.

  • Choose and combine weed control methods best suited to their constraints and weed flora.

  • Secure the implementation of sustainable weed control strategies.

Face-to-face format with the possibility of a field section (depending on conditions and training period):

  • Theoretical classroom input: Presentation of the crop, its outlets and technical itineraries (main crop, catch crop, association), illustrated by trial results and concrete case studies.
  • Field observation: Analysis of real-life situations in plots and observation of trials to carry out collective diagnoses and illustrate technical levers.

Active methods: Presentations, case studies, practical exchanges, question-and-answer sessions, applied diagnostics.

Assessment: Quiz to validate knowledge acquired, questions and answers throughout the course, self-assessment by participants, individual satisfaction survey.

Theoretical support: Presentations.

Case studies: Real-life situations based on experimental results and feedback from the field, analyzed collectively.

Practical exchanges: Sharing of experiences between participants and trainers to enrich technical analysis and diagnoses.

Q&A, quiz, individual satisfaction survey, self-positioning
