They talk about it

Philippe Benoist is responsible for budgeting, monitoring and controlling expenditure on all the Institute's partnership projects.

My background is atypical. After a BAC in management accounting, I joined Terres Inovia. The first year I took a BTS in accounting and business management as an independent candidate, and then I took a diploma course in management control.

The heart of my job is to budget, monitor and control expenditure on all the Institute's partnership projects. For example, I produce financial statements for the duration of a project, to show its level of progress and justify expenditure to the funding bodies. In connection with R&D projects, at the beginning of the year I am involved in providing data for Terres inovia's Research Tax Credit. As part of my management control duties, I design and run dynamic dashboards (using DATAVIZ Power BI technology) for the operational monitoring of Terres Inovia's activities.

In a technical institute, the job of management controller is a cross-functional one! I'm often in contact with the research managers to monitor the budget for their projects. As I'm curious by nature, I like being in touch with the company's R&D activities. It's stimulating and goes beyond the strict scope of the job of management controller.
