Centers of competitiveness bring together, within a particular area and around a particular theme, companies of various sizes, research laboratories and training establishments. Their role is to support innovation and to promote the development of collaborative research and development (R&D) products of particular interest.

These centers often bring together large numbers of economic actors and organize many events and strategic watch activities, at the crossroads of economic, technical and scientific issues. They lead to partnership projects with several important positive features: the involvement of economic organizations, different sources of funding, communication concerning projects, etc.

These centers are, thus, a useful element in the strategies of the institute for the regional anchoring of activities (regional programs), institutional visibility (the institutional mark program) and diversification of funding sources (the valorization program).

For these reasons, Terres Inovia has chosen to join three such centers:

-Vitagora

-Agri Sud-Ouest Innovation

-Céréales Vallée, in which the institute participates in the scientific and executive committees.

These three centers are all built around the concept of agrofood sectors, from production to the consumer.

The institute participates in or coordinates some of the most innovative projects supported by these centers of competitiveness:

- Précidrone: This new offer of “start-to-finish” agricultural advice is based on a system of imaging by drones coordinated by GEA-Terres du Sud and accredited by the Agri-Sud-Ouest-Innovation center of competitiveness (and the Aerospace Valley center of competitiveness);

- The construction of a simulator for predicting sunflower yield and quality at territorial level, through the use of satellite-based remote sensing. This project is coordinated by Terres Inovia and accredited by the Agri-Sud-Ouest-Innovation center of competitiveness;

- Polygone: This project aims to improve the quality of rapeseed oils and cakes during production, by controlling interactions with the environment and agricultural practices. It has accreditation from the Vitagora center of competitiveness.
