French plant-based protein has a future!
The Cap Protéines programme began in January 2021 and ends this month. This dossier outlines its achievements, focusing on knowledge transfer, sector development, protein autonomy for French livestock farms and the lessons to be learned from the virus epidemic that affected seed legumes last year.
It is essential that this initial work continue. Technical and agronomic development, with a view to acquiring references, needs to be supported over the long term to ensure the sustainability of oilseeds - and a fortiori seed legumes - in France.
