Rapeseed visit : control of mycosphaerella

23 May 2022

In response to a local problem, Terres Inovia has set up specific trials in the north of Charente-Maritime to improve control strategies against rapeseed diseases, particularly mycosphaerella. These field trials are supported financially by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
The technical actors - agronomic managers of storage organisations, advisors from the Chamber of Agriculture, prescribers - were invited to a field event in Saint-Sauveur d'Aunis (17) to observe the differences between the tested methods.
Elodie Tourton, Regional Development Engineer Vendée/Poitou-Charentes/Limousin, and Gwénola Riquet, Development Engineer - Disease Management Inputs and Biocontrol, co-hosted the presentation, accompanied by Romaric Lange, experimental technician in charge of these trials.

About fifteen people joined us to follow the programme:

  •     Reminder on the biology of mycosphaerella
  •     Presentation of the 2 national protocols and their objectives (screening, strategy, trial sites)
  •     Weather data of interest vs. rapeseed cycle
  •     Discussions on observable trends (progression of the disease)

We warmly thank the farmer for carrying our trials and for accepting their visits, as well as the Charente-Maritime Chamber of Agriculture for having directed us to this plot.
See you at the winter technical meeting in Niort for the results!
