Châlons en Champagne : a reinforced team in new premises

11 Feb 2022

To guide producers in their technical itineraries and the management of oil and protein crops, Terres Inovia is present on about twenty sites on the national territory, including development offices, research units, laboratories and experimental stations.
A vast and varied production basin, with characteristic chalk soils

Although there were already three experimental units in the North and East zone, the Champagne-Ardenne production basin had none. "It is an important area in which all our crops are represented, with a good production potential on a wide variety of soils, especially those dominated by chalk," explains Delphine de Fornel, head of the North and East zone at Terres Inovia. Not to mention the presence of numerous technical and economic partners in the vicinity, for whom "it seemed essential to complement field expertise with regional referencing, adapted to local production systems and issues.
A new team with complementary skills and expertise

At the Châlons-en-Champagne site, Terres Inovia's regional office is made up of four field staff with complementary expertise in order to meet all the challenges of this production basin. Since December 2021, they have been located in new premises on the Mont Bernard agricultural complex, in the France Luzerne building.

A new employee, Gwenola Marage, an experimentation technician, is in charge of setting up and running the regional experimentation network. Mathieu Dulot has also joined the local team as a development engineer alongside Bastien Remurier, development engineer and regional protein crop coordinator. Laurent Ruck is now a full-time national development engineer, responsible for the evaluation of insecticides and biocontrol of pests.

"There is a great complementarity of skills and missions in this team of experienced employees. This cluster of complementary expertise and the creation of a new experimentation unit thus attest to the institute's ambition to strengthen its work on proteaginous crops, pest control and the reclaiming of rapeseed areas.
