On April 7, in Arras, the FiLoLéG project—of which Terres Inovia is a key partner—continued its regional consultation efforts by bringing together stakeholders from the Hauts-de-France seed legume sector for a working group on “Governance and Sector Agreements.” The aim was to present stakeholders with a summary of the actions to be implemented, based on the discussions of the FiLoLéG Local Legume Seed Sector project consortium, the needs expressed by stakeholders, and the proposals jointly developed during the two previous workshops.

After an early flowering stage marked by a series of contrasting weather conditions and damage to flower buds, rapeseed’s ability to recover may vary significantly depending on the condition of the fields. An analysis of the mechanisms at play and the potential scenarios.

As part of FiLoLég, an initiative promoting grain legumes in the Hauts-de-France region, a webinar was held on March 24 to explore potential strategies for optimizing the use of legumes, creating new value chains, and strengthening protein self-sufficiency.
 

The webinar provided an overview of emerging protein crops, examples of existing value-added initiatives, and promising innovations, with a focus on the opportunities offered by pea starch and its industrial uses, as well as insights into potential ways to utilize fava bean hulls.

Sunflowers are particularly susceptible to weed competition, especially in shallow soils and/or during dry years. Controlling broadleaf and grass weeds is therefore essential to ensure a good yield. In this context, mechanical weeding provides an additional tool, either as a supplement to or an alternative for herbicides and preventive agronomic practices.
